This entry-level position is based at Pretoria Head Office within the Corporate Support Services branch, CD: Auxiliary Services. The Driver/Messenger is responsible for safe and efficient transportation of officials and documents, vehicle maintenance compliance, and support for registry services.
Responsibilities
- Drive light motor vehicles for official departmental use.
- Complete vehicle logbooks and trip authorisation forms.
- Collect and drop off documents and officials to and from various destinations.
- Conduct routine vehicle safety checks.
- Assist with registry services as required.
Requirements
- An NQF Level 2 qualification or relevant qualification.
- Valid Code 8 driver’s licence (disclosure required).
- One (1) year of experience in a driver/messenger environment.
Knowledge & Competencies
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and Occupational Health and Safety protocols.
- Understanding of record keeping and reporting procedures.
- High sense of responsibility, accountability, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

- Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a financial disclosure form and undergo security clearance.
- Foreigners or dual citizenship holders must provide a police clearance certificate from their country of origin (required only upon shortlisting).
- For posts requiring professional or occupational registration, all relevant fields in Part B of the online Z83 form must be completed in full.
